The economic conditions in the counties, towns, and communities served by Southern Pine is the foundation for cultivating a better quality of life. Southern Pine cares about its local community members and actively seeks opportunities for developing new industry and enhancing existing industry by promoting the many great resources in our service area. A number of economic development programs are sponsored by our cooperative, such as a competitive zero interest loan program administered by the Department of Rural Development of the United States Department of Agriculture. We also sponsor grants for site engineering and development studies by partnering with local economic development foundations.
Southern Pine provides the necessary infrastructure for affordable, reliable electric service which is crucial to any business or industry. Through mutual efforts with organizations such as Electric Power Associations of Mississippi, South Mississippi Electric Power Association, Mississippi Development Authority, Mississippi Economic Council, and other local economic development foundations, Southern Pine works to promote economic prosperity and the creation of new jobs..
